......angels on my window

last week I made some lace angels from the Sonia Showalter designs 




 website, they are from
 the angels of light
 collection







 and the light
 today was perfect,
the late afternoon
 sun was shining

and the angels were so beautiful, I just had to snap a few pictures ..... ok a lot of pictures. I made these angels to send out with my Christmas Cards

to try them, they came in the mail yesterday

and I spend some time trying them out today.

window decorating

I found this great idea on Pinterest, this site is great there are so many ideas.

 I made a lot of lace snow flakes ahead of time, they are perfect for decorating and as gift tags. 

we hot glued ribbons around candy canes and attached them to a garland, this makes for an inexpensive way to decorate your window.

we hung the lace ornaments on clear hooks on the top part of the windows, I love the way they look when the sun is shining.

Busy crafting

I've been busy the last few weeks, starting my Christmas crafts,

 (these gift tags are good scrap paper busters, I used a lot of left overs)

....there are sooo many ideas and sooo little time, every year I'm telling myself to start earlier, but I know that will not happen anyway, so here is a start

 

 

 

 I found a great embroidery file for these mini composition book covers at Fivestar Fonts, I love making these. They are perfect little teacher gifts along with the monogram Cosmetic bag.

Kitchen done.....

......almost, I still have to sew new curtains, but I have to come up with a style first,

 

 

I love how open the new kitchen is and the white makes everything a little brighter.

 

....... now we need accessories :)

House warming present

Last weekend we went to visit a Friend who bought a Bed and Breakfast,

it was great to see her again, I made these Towels with the name of her

B&B as a House warming gift,

I love this applique Frame, just add the lettering from the embroidery machine an you have a nice image.

I'm doing a set for my kitchen next :)

I just bought this great embroidery file from Picklepiedesign and could not wait to try it,

I love the ribbon and the ability to add a monogram, this gives the bag a personal note.
The first couple of bags are already given away, but Im sure there are A LOT MORE to come,

Last minute travel accessories

Don't you hate it, when you travel and your necklaces are all tangled when you arrive, ... here is an easy solution :)

I took 8 freezer bags, (the ones with the zipper), I sewed a double sided fabric base (9.5 x18 in approx., add iron on stabilizer) added  ribbon on one side to close the jewelry organizer then I sewed one stack of 4 zipper bags to the base about 5 inches from the top of the zipper bag (I stapled them together first, so they would not slide) cut away excess on bottom and do the same about one inch away from the first sewing line with the other stack of 4 zipper bags. Just fill with your jewelry and you are ready to go.

we just got back from the beach and we are heading to see grandma and grandpa in Germany

the kitchen has to wait a while, first we have to have some fun!

I had a lot of fun trying out my new camera, it takes a while to get it right, but I love it.
