Kitchen project... floor

... we knew we have problems with a sagging floor, when we removed the tile, we saw how bad it was
we had some help reinfocrcing and leveling the floor and now I'm busy patching and painting the kitchen walls.

I love the gray, it will make a nice contrast to the white cabinets.
Sorry no sewing right now, but there will be more after the kitchen is done.

Kitchen project

.... my Kitchen project

this project was cooking in my mind for quite a while. When we moved in 2 years ago, we had to do a lot of other things and we put the kitchen off. Then there was the time, that I wanted to do the kitchen, but there are so many choices and where do you start, I changed my mind about style and color a million of times and did not get anywhere. I'm glad many of our neighbors did their kitchen and that gave me a lot of good ideas on what to do with the space.
my final choice is this IKEA kitchen, I know, when you hear IKEA you think  "boxes", that need to be put together, but I love building things and  I love the choice of organizers and drawer inserts.

Easter decorating

I'm busy this weekend making some more things for our Easter decoration

for the banner I used water soluble stabilizer for the hoop, then added 2 layers of cut away stabilizer, 1 layer of fabric on top and one on the bottom. The ribbons I sewed on the back with a couple of stitches.

I love making lace eggs, we cut some branches and put then in a vase , then decorated them with little Easter charms, eggs and the lace eggs, for a center piece
now spring can come

Getting ready for Easter......
this is an easy way to grow your own Easter grass perhaps for a
center piece or a window decoration.

we used a glass container I my neighbor gave to me (thanks Leanne :), filled the container with small pebbles on the bottom and potting mix, we added some whole gain wheat, barley or anything like it, the only thing important is that it is not crushed. We covered it with a thin layer of dirt and watered it, just wait a few days and your grass will grow.
I love using glass containers, because you can see the roots too this is great for kids too, it is fun seeing the grass grow a little every day.

recycled candle

... do you ever wonder what to do with the glasses that Glade candles come in?
I bought some at Christmas time and after the candles were gone I did not want to toss the glasses in the trash. I saw some great fabric covered candles and that gave me the idea for this candle cover.
The bunny picture is a freebie from the net. I embroidered the bunny picture, then added a daisy lace border and closed the cover with a fabric circle on the bottom.
I love the look when the tea candle is lit and you can see the bunny picture in the candle light.
This is the first part of my Easter decoration

valentines treats

this year I was a little late getting the treats ready, there were ready just in time.
These boxes were made by using a scalloped envelope sizzix die.

...touch of spring........
I had a lot of fun last weekend making bags in lots of different colors. I tried the satin fabric for the fist time and I love the result, it is classy and simple.

I can't wait until it gets a little warmer outside, and spring is finally here, when I saw this fabric I thought ....Spring....I used it to make this I-phone bag, the embroidery file is from Embroidery Garden, but I altered it a little, because it was a little too short for the phone.
