Bags and more

a couple of weeks ago i found these patterns at Embroidery garden and have been making lots of bags. There is no more excuse for a messy purse now. I love the Id vallet the front fits my drivers license nicely and in the back is plenty of space for coins and cards. this quilted cosmetic bag come in handy too, all the little things that float around in my purse fit in the bag, it it about 5x7 inches and has a removable wrist strap.

...it looks like Christmas is over, we are eating the last christmas cookies and

I'm taking down some more decorations. it came and went too fast,

here are another couple of things made for Christmas,

for our neighbors I made embroidered christmas bags and filled them with candy and nuts.

........cozy and warm for little girls... is this scarf, made from polar fleece
I added an embroidery design and a
star border I have on my sewing machine. Superfast and easy to sew, this is a great last minute present for little girls on cold days.

... yesterday I saw these cute easter window cany bags at cute embroidery.com

and I could not resist, after some trial and error I added Names to the back of the bags and

I changed the sewing around the window, because the plactic would tear, because the stitching was too tight.

I love the result .

Also finished is the first embroidered T-shirt for my little neighbor and

a towel as part of a wedding present for a co-worker.

I had a busy weekend of stitching but now I'm going outside to enjoy a beautiful spring day.

Easter basket

.....Another project is finished, this was my first try at making an easter basket, I did it the easy way. I bought a ready made easter basket with fabric liner and simply replaced the liner and stitched a bunny applique and the name.

I hope the little lady likes her personalized easter basket.

Lust auf Ostern,

easter is coming

jetzt hats uns auch gepackt, es war heute soooooooo schoen warm draussen , da bekommt man so richtig Lust auf Fruehling und Ostern.

Wir haben dekoriert und ich hab die ersten Ostersachen genaeht,

it was so nice outside, we can't wait for spring to come, we did some easter decorating and I sewed the first things for easter, here you can find a great tutorial to make these fabric easter eggs.

Sew German goes INSA

Yesterday I finally got a book I wanted for some time.

This book is full of wonderful ideas and patterns. The first one I had to try was INSA.

This skirt is jut too cute not to try.

I used fabrics I had on hand just to give the pattern a try, but I'm sure there will be more. This pattern is soooo versatile, there are sooo many possibilities.

getting ready for spring

It has been so nice the last few days. Spring is finally here (at least for now).

We have a lot of little visitors on our deck. These little squirrels are just so much fun to watch.

For quite a while I wanted to sew a peasant top but was intimidated by all the ruffles, but it was not half as bad as I thought. Actually it was quite easy and fun to sew. I'm sure there will be more to follow. This one is a blouse I made for my niece in size 4/5 the fabric is light and airy. It is a little too cold to wear it now, but it will be perfect for those hot summer days.

I have not had too much time to sew in the last weeks,

but here is one of my finished projects.

This pencil case is embellished with doodle stitching, I followed the lines of the design and used complimenting colors.

Polar bear bag

I promised one of my co-workers a polar bear bag and finally had time to sew it.

She wanted just a regular bag, but I wanted to make something special.

I hope she likes it.

Wir wuenschen Euch allen einen schoenen Niklolaustag.

Diese kleinen Stiefel haben wir heute an unseren Nachbarskinder und Freunde verteilt.

another christmas present idea

I saw similar Grocery bag organizers at a store

and thought what a great idea

but instead of spending about 10 $ each

I made my own. The Fabric I had in my stash was a perfect fit.

The bag is about 7 in wide and 16 in long (plus a few inches for the hanger)

It has elastic sewn in at top and bottom.

These are easy to make and are very useful. I used to have an entire shelf in my pantry filled up with all kinds of grocery bags, now I have this organizer.

I like that it limits the amount of bags to keep, when it is full the bags go in the recycling bin.

Vor Weihnachten.....

.......gibt bei uns immer vieeeeeeeeeel zu tun, wir basteln und werkeln.

Meine Jungs machen ihre Origami- Sterne in allen moeglichen Variationen.

Sie werden als Baumschmuck und Geschenkdekorationen verwendet und ich naehe und stricke. Ein handgemachtes Geschenk ist fuer mich viel schoener als etwas gekauftes.

Rechts ist ein Schal aus Microfaser mit Blaetterrand und links ist ein genaehtes Set mit Kalender/Notizbuch, Schluesselanhaenger und Kosmetiktasche.

Ornaments

Every year we are making Ormanents to give along the christmas presents or send in our Christmas cards.

This weekend we made the first Ornaments for this year.

The last couple of weeks have been very busy, the first orders for Christmas are coming in and I have a lot of sewing to do.

Here are a some Halloween goody-bags that I made for the kids in the neighborhood. They loved them.
