We had a busy weekend, we had a Malik's Birthday party with his friends. They had a lot of fun especially with the shark piniata.

This is a last minute birthday present for one of my son's friends, you know how they come the night before, "mom I need a present for tomorrow". I was lucky I picked her favorite color and she loved it.

My bag project is moving along nicely, I made changes to the pattern twice, but now it is big enough and looks better, I've had some orders already. It is so rewarding if people want to buy the things I make.

Diese Woche sind wieder ein paar Maeppchen fertig geworden unter anderem diese fuer eine

kleine Nachbarin, sie liebt orange.

This week I finished some more pencil cases, this one is for one of our neighbors,

can you tell she likes orange?

Ich bastel im Moment an einem guten Schnitt fuer eine Kosmetiktasche, das ist einer

der Prototypen. Die Tasche ist etwas zu klein, daran muss ich noch arbeiten.

I'm working on an pattern for a cosmetic bag. It is not bad so far, but a little small, but I'm working on it.

More knitting

Just finished this week are these little baby sets.

I made one of the pink sets as a present for the granddaughter of a nice lady at work and it turned into 3 more sets.

I love knitting baby hats, they are cute and fast to knit. You can find this pattern on "ravelry".

Getting ready for Fall

Today we had 90*F , but Fall is coming soon.

I just finished the first Fall cardigan for the season. The pattern is fairly simple, just the raglan pattern for the shoulders was a little tricky. The cardigan was knitted from the bottom up in 1 piece.

A towel fix

Last week I bought a multi-pack of dish towels. When I unpacked them I noticed that a couple of them were not cut straight.

Since I had to fix them anyway I pepped them up with a little fabric and bias tape.

One of my friends made a yummy cake when I visited her. I had to try it. It is super easy and fast.

All you need is a box of yellow cake mix and a can of peaches (in light syrup). Add eggs and oil as it says on the package and 1/3 cup of water, then add the can of peaches including the juice.

Bake for about 45 min. at 350* or until a toothpick comes out clean when inserted.

we had an early morning visitor today, this little turtle was greeting us in our front yard when the boys left for school, what a nice way to start the day.

Kitchen makeover

Our first week of school was very hektic and exciting. Both boys are in Middle School now, new teachers, new schedule, new classes, everything is different. It was a very busy week, but I managed to get some things done in my kitchen.

Finally there are curtains on the windows. I was not quite sure what was the best style, because the windows are not very high, but I'm pleased with the result.

The pantry needed some work too, there is (or was) one shelf stuffed with plastic bags, thats a lot of wasted space, I saw plastic bag holders for sale and they were fairly simple. A fabric tube with elastic and a holding strap on top.

I made mine a little larger and a lot more colorful. It is hanging on the inside of the pantry door. The thing I love the most is - that it limits the number of bags - when it is full, thats it, so there is no way I'm cluttering my pantry with plastic bags again.

Last minute vacation

We had a great last minute vacation at the beach, the weather was perfect and the waves were high, the boys had soooooooo much fun.

wir hatten einen Kurzurlaub am Strand, das Wetter war toll und die Wellen sehr hoch, die Jungs hatten einen Riesenspass.

It was a nice break before the school starts again.

They are going BACK!

It's this time of year again,

summer is over, one more week and they are going back to school, we are soooo ready.

Summer is just tooo long. The kids are tired of camps and hot weather and ready to see their friends again and make new friends.
