Lust auf Ostern,

easter is coming

jetzt hats uns auch gepackt, es war heute soooooooo schoen warm draussen , da bekommt man so richtig Lust auf Fruehling und Ostern.

Wir haben dekoriert und ich hab die ersten Ostersachen genaeht,

it was so nice outside, we can't wait for spring to come, we did some easter decorating and I sewed the first things for easter, here you can find a great tutorial to make these fabric easter eggs.

Sew German goes INSA

Yesterday I finally got a book I wanted for some time.

This book is full of wonderful ideas and patterns. The first one I had to try was INSA.

This skirt is jut too cute not to try.

I used fabrics I had on hand just to give the pattern a try, but I'm sure there will be more. This pattern is soooo versatile, there are sooo many possibilities.

getting ready for spring

It has been so nice the last few days. Spring is finally here (at least for now).

We have a lot of little visitors on our deck. These little squirrels are just so much fun to watch.

For quite a while I wanted to sew a peasant top but was intimidated by all the ruffles, but it was not half as bad as I thought. Actually it was quite easy and fun to sew. I'm sure there will be more to follow. This one is a blouse I made for my niece in size 4/5 the fabric is light and airy. It is a little too cold to wear it now, but it will be perfect for those hot summer days.

I have not had too much time to sew in the last weeks,

but here is one of my finished projects.

This pencil case is embellished with doodle stitching, I followed the lines of the design and used complimenting colors.

Weihnachten *** Christmas

I bought some rather boaring hat and glove sets.

An added chrochet scarf and some embellishments later

they make cute little Sets to keep little ladies warm.

Polar bear bag

I promised one of my co-workers a polar bear bag and finally had time to sew it.

She wanted just a regular bag, but I wanted to make something special.

I hope she likes it.

Ich habe einer Kollegin einen Eisbaerbeutel versprochen, eigentlich wollte sie einen ganz normalen Beutel, aber ich wollte etwas besonderes machen, ich h0ffe er gefaellt ihr.

Wir wuenschen Euch allen einen schoenen Niklolaustag.

Diese kleinen Stiefel haben wir heute an unseren Nachbarskinder und Freunde verteilt.

another christmas present idea

I saw similar Grocery bag organizers at a store

and thought what a great idea

but instead of spending about 10 $ each

I made my own. The Fabric I had in my stash was a perfect fit.

The bag is about 7 in wide and 16 in long (plus a few inches for the hanger)

It has elastic sewn in at top and bottom.

These are easy to make and are very useful. I used to have an entire shelf in my pantry filled up with all kinds of grocery bags, now I have this organizer.

I like that it limits the amount of bags to keep, when it is full the bags go in the recycling bin.
